BHOC Barcelona 2025: Simulation-Based Training for Complex Coronary Lesions

In March 2025, MInDSiTE hosted a new edition of the Bifurcation Hands-On Course (BHOC) in Barcelona together with Abbott, further strengthening its simulation-based approach to education in interventional cardiology.

The course brought together interventional cardiologists from different hospitals in a highly interactive environment designed to encourage collaboration, discussion, and hands-on training.

Participants refined two-stent strategies for the treatment of coronary bifurcations while improving their interpretation of Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), an essential imaging tool for optimizing coronary interventions.

Through the simulation of complex clinical cases, attendees were able to reproduce real-world scenarios, repeat procedures, discuss different treatment strategies, and learn directly from experienced faculty and peers.

This educational model strengthens both technical expertise and clinical decision-making in a safe environment before those skills are applied in patient care.
