CHIP Boston Madrid: simulation training for highly complex coronary procedures

October 2025

In October 2025, MInDSiTE took part in the CHIP Boston programme in Madrid, bringing simulation into the training of highly complex coronary procedures.

The activity, developed in collaboration with Boston Scientific, was designed for experienced operators looking to refine their strategies and skills in complex coronary intervention.

Training for complexity

Interventional cardiology involves highly complex situations that require experience, technical knowledge and the ability to assess different strategies.

During CHIP Boston Madrid, participants were able to use simulation to practise different coronary intervention techniques, including coronary bifurcation procedures and two-stent techniques.

The simulators made it possible to recreate these procedures while creating an environment for exchange between participants and instructors, where each exercise also became an opportunity to discuss strategies and share experiences.

Preparing for infrequent situations

One of the major benefits of clinical simulation becomes particularly clear when dealing with situations that may be infrequent but are highly significant in clinical practice.

Recreating them in a training environment provides an opportunity to practise different techniques and analyse decisions before encountering these scenarios in clinical practice.

In this context, simulation becomes a particularly valuable tool for experienced professionals who want to continue refining their knowledge and skills when facing highly complex procedures.

Continuous training and innovation

MInDSiTE’s participation in CHIP Boston Madrid represented another step forward in our commitment to applying simulation across different areas of interventional cardiology.

Our collaboration with Boston Scientific also reinforced a shared commitment to continuous medical education and the integration of technological innovation into professional training.

Because experience is essential. And the opportunity to practise, analyse and discuss complexity makes it possible to keep learning, even for experienced operators.
